During the cold Winter months I like to sleep in big flannel night gowns. Unforntunately they only come in Granny model, so charming they are not. In fact, there have been times when I took a big sheet out of the cupboard, and it turned out to be my nightgown.
But they’re so comfortable, and have a lovely cooling effect on husbands. I can highly recommend them for a night of uninterrupted sleep. And if there’s anything I long for, after five kids, it’s a good night’s sleep.
But then, one day I was out shopping, this hot little nightgown caught my eye. It was black, with little shoulder straps, and had a lacy top. Usually I firmly ignore clothes like this, but suddenly I found myself paying for it.
When I got home I tossed it in the cupboard, where it lay gathering dust. But yesterday, while searching for my comfy Birkenstocks, I found it again.
‘I may as well try it on,’ I decided, and stared in wonder at the mirror. Instead of a walking, talking sheet, before me stood a slender, even sexy woman!
‘Not bad, after five kids!’ I decided.
If only I didn’t like my night of uninterrupted sleep so much.
