How to talk to husbands

Whenever I want to have a heart to heart with my husband, he gets this shifty look in his eyes, and needs to go to the bathroom. Or he gets sidetracked wondering how a word is spelled, because he's a bit of a language freak. He reads dictionaries for pleasure, need I say more?

But I have found a solution! I corner him when he's in the bath tub, and has nowhere to go. I pull up my Ikea Mammut stool, and start telling him my innermost thoughts and feelings.

But today, right in the middle of my interesting monologue about how one of the moms at school looked at me 'funny', I suddenly saw these telltale bubbles around his butt.
'Are you farting?' I asked disbelievingly.

My husband wasn't fazed. 'Farting, farting, I'ld like to call it making my own jaccuzzi. I wonder, do you write jacuzzi with two 'c's or only one?'

  1. Too funny! Gotta love him 🙂 I guess if you can deal with the bubbles you can say what you have to say - that's an easy trade off! LOL

    Love this post!

  2. What a riot! Men are too funny sometimes. Honestly, they have such a hard time understanding our need to just Talk. It took my husband almost twenty years to stop trying to fix my problems and simply let me talk them through.

  3. HaHA!! That's hysterical! I'll never understand why men just think it's ok to pass gas whenever they darn well please! My hubby once did it when I was snuggling with him watching a movie... and my head was IN HIS LAP. I had to lay the smack down on that one right away!!! I actually have a sort of mental rulebook about where it's ok for him to fart and where it's not. LOL And of course, after blowing a loud one and getting a nasty look from me, he usually responds, "Oops...sat on a duck."

I'm stopping by from voiceBoks members to remember! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  4. So I decided to check out your blog after your comment on mine... and then post titles kept catching my eye, so I kept reading... and then I started reading them to my husband... 🙂 You are one hilarious chick. You remind me a lot of my bestie, so I am going to pass along your site to her! Looking forward to more. 🙂

  5. HILARIOUS! Men are so funny sometimes! I love your "serious" talk about someone looking at you funny. My husband and I have those talks too. Ha ha. I love your blog!

Btw, I love your little statement before we make comments. I get that a lot too. It's frustrating. The whole purpose of blog hops are to find new blogs, read them, make new friends, and maybe then follow. I think some people are just after the numbers, that they miss all the fun! : ) Have a great weekend!
