Relationship advice for men!

September 19, 2011
I like old fashioned courtsey in a man. I love it when they open a door for me, or lift their hat to greet me. A woman likes to feel appreciated and treasured.

But if that's too much to ask, and something tells me it is, then I would like at least a man who doesn't fart when I'm around and who doesn't belch. But above all, I would like him to put the toilet seat down.

Country singer Brad Paisly obviously 'gets' women, and is offering some free relationship advice in his song 'Ode de Toilet'

She says not to buy her flowers
Or big expensive gifts
She says she don't want jewlery
And she doesn't need another dress
If I want to show her how much I adore her
The best way that I've found
Is to make sure when I'm finished
I put that toilet seat down

We've been to counseling
To try and see the ways we could improve
This thing between us
And different ways to show each other "I love you"
Forget about those getaway vacations
To romantic coastal towns
If you want to say "I love you"
Then put that toilet seat down

'Cause in the middle of the night
It's cold and it's dark
And when I hear my name in vain
I know I haven't done my part
She just wants me to support her
And the best way that I've found
So with a gentle hand and a loving touch
I put that toilet seat down

I know it's kind of funny
You can teach a little puppy
But it's very hard to train a grown man
When I'm all about my buisiness
And the path of least resistance
She's the one that suffers in the end

In the middle of the night
It's cold and it's dark
And when I hear my name in vain
I know I haven't done my part
She just wants me to support her
And the best way that I've found
So with a gentle hand and a loving touch
I put that toilet seat down
Down, down

  1. Argh!!! I always ask my husband, "Do we leave the toilet seat up in this house? Um, NO!!"
I like the lid down too...not hard :)
Oh and I despise the toilet paper not replaced on the holder!!!

  5. I absolutely can not stand farting and belching in front of me! My hubby is so bad about that and it just goes all through me. He tends to remember to put the toilet seat down, so I guess he feels he can do the other and I shouldn't complain! I'm a new follower and would love it if you could follow me back :)

  6. I agree with Rebecca. I find that there are other things that bother me more, so I just pick my battles. Do NOT fart in front of me or I will have to throat punch you. So gross.

Stopping by from the Tuesday BlogHop!
