Speech Therapy Syndrome

E-x-c-u-s-e excuse t-h-e the -w-a-y way I t-a-l-k talk, b-u-t but I s-a-t sat i-n in o-n on t-o-o too m-a-n-y many s-e-s-s-i-o-n-s sessions o-f of s-p-e-e-c-h speech t-h-e-r-a-p-y therapy f-o-r for m-y my s-o-n son. A-n-d and n-o-w now I’m s-u-f-f-e-r-i-n-g suffering f-r-o-m from S-p-e-e-c-h T-h-e-r-a-p-y S-y-n-d-r-o-m-e Speech Therapy Syndrome.

T-h-i-s this i-s is a s-y-n-d-r-o-m-e syndome i-n in w-h-i-c-h which p-a-t-i-e-n-t-s patients f-e-e-l feel a c-o-m-p-u-l-s-i-v-e compulsive n-e-e-d need t-o to s-o-u-nd sound o-u-t out w-o-r-d-s words. M-y my p-r-o-g-n-o-s-i-s prognosis i-s is n-o-t not g-o-o-d good.

E-x-p-e-r-t-s experts t-h-i-n-k think I w-i-l-l will n-e-e-d need e-x-t-e-n-s-i-v-e extensive s-p-e-e-c-h speech t-h-e-r-a-p-y therapy

  1. That is so funny! You know, when I was a teacher in Seoul, Korea I had to speak VERY slowly and enunciate every word….Wouldn’t you know it, it took me nearly two years before I could speak normally after returning home!!!

  2. Would love to see a vlogger post of this, ha! It’s sort of like when talking with a non-native English speaker, and you automatically talk like a robot/moron! Lol!

  3. This was a really touching post. I think a lot of us as mom’s need someone to ask us that very question. I love that you were able to view your son’s difficulty in a different light. I think this post will stick with me. Thanks for sharing.
