Today I abandoned my trusty Birkenstocks in favor of a pair of shoes that actually have heels. I have to say, I feel kinda different! One might almost say I feel 'feminine'. Even my walk is different.
Granted, my new walk is due to pain, but it really is quite elegant! And as my mom always says: 'One has to suffer for beauty!'
And I've certainly got the suffering part covered.
What kind of shoes do you wear?
Are you going for comfort or for looks?
What a difference a shoe makes!

while i tend to choose shoes more on the looks side, i wouldn't wear anything that is uncomfortable either...so i guess it's a combination of both. it really does make a difference in how you feel and carry yourself. i love the look of the heel :)

You truly deserve the new footwear, mom!
ReplyDeleteTry different shoes according to your mood and role as a mom and woman. Sure it will bring confidence in you.

I definitely go for comfort! If I can be barefoot, I am. If not, it's flip flops.

Sneakers...must have sneakers! I have HORRIBLE toes, so I try to stay away from flip-flops (oh, and I don't just say "ew, my feet"...I really mean it). I get a little sad when I see all of the fun summer shoes come out. My eleven year old wears flip flops like it is her job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference wearing "lady shoes" makes, huh??

Pain is beauty. But I often opt for a wedge-like heel, it has both comfort and fashion and at the end of the day I'm not limping like a one legged pirate...
ReplyDeleteThat photo of you in the two different shoes is great!!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear anything with a heel because I'm completely graceless & prone to tripping. I also love Crocs, which means I'm tasteless, too. I just have a thing for slip-on shoes. I haven't worn anything that had to be tied or buckled for the last 6-7 years.

ReplyDeleteI love to wear heels!! 3 inches or higher. I think I deserve it, after wearing mom shoes for so long :)
Suffer i do but I feel like a woman!!
In the summer I can be found bare foot or in flip flops. I probably have about 20 pairs. During months when starts to cool off, I switch to sheepskin lined flip flops. I finally give in and switch to Dansko clogs when the temperature is under 50.

Oh I can't wear heals. Well I could, but I'm already tall enough at 6 foot. Sooo.....I choose to wear really cute flip flops, most of my life, like every day, unless it's below 50 degrees. LOL!

ReplyDeleteI'm mostly all about comfort, but when there's an occasion that calls for heels...well I'm gonna wear some serious heels! No 1 1/2 inch for me, 4 inches or higher baby! Great blog, I'm a new follower!

Good ol' Aussie 'T-Boots' for day to day, but I once was tempted by a super bargain on some Beautifeel pumps - although I've only worn them twice!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
I'm definitely a comfort girl, though I do have a few pretties in my stash! I'm a new follower over from Relax and Surf!
