Are you scared?

To fan the smouldering embers of our relationship, my husband and I like to pretend we're going to the movies. Of course we don't really go, because that would mean hiring a babysitter, but every Saturday night we stretch out on the couch armed with big bags of chips.

Last Saturday we rented Paranormal Activity, a scary psychological thriller. Trembling with fear we hid behind the couch, and jumped in fright at the slightest sound. After looking everywhere, we finally located the remote control in a vase, and started the movie.

For those of you who are blissfully ignorant about this movie, let me scare you by telling you what it's about: the female character is haunted, and the movie doesn't end well. There you have it! Don't say I didn't warn you.

During the scary parts I tried to calm myself, by mumbling: 'It's only a movie, it's only a movie!' My hubby is useless in these situations, because he gets even more scared than me! 'Impressive what they can do with special effects nowadays, isn't it honey?!' I said to calm ourselves.

Then suddenly, right in the middle of the story, the movie ended. Hubby came out of his hiding place behind the curtains, and poured himself a very large drink.
'Never again!' we promised ourselves.

But then I heard about Paranormal 3! Wanna watch the preview with me?!

Hubby says he's 'too busy'...
