Our pear tree: still going strong |
About three years ago we moved into my granny's old house. The pear tree is still going strong, offering us her fruits! In fact this year we have so many pears, it's impossible to eat them all before they go bad. So we've taken to cooking them.
At first we added sugar and water, but we soon discovered there was no need to add anything. It's enough to just put the pears in a pan, put it on the stove and then very gently cook them. The pears produce their own juices.
So now I've got this great free ánd healthy snack for the kids.
And you know what? Even though we made it, I can still taste my granny's love.

ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely post! I love the idea that a tree can last through the generations - maybe your grandchildren will be eating pears from that tree too!
