OMG! I can't get into the Admin panel of my blog!

Have you ever been browsing for a new look for your Wordpress blog? Trying out themes, installing plugins... And then suddenly, your screen goes blank. No wait, there's a message at the top!

You lean towards the screen, and suddenly you're getting hot under your collar. You can feel the hair prickling on your head and your armpits pooling with sweat. Because there it is:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_network_admin() in /homepages/44/d215038298/htdocs/yfs/wp-admin/includes/template.php on line 1665

And you can't even get into your admin panel to fix it! What are you gonna do?! Panic?!

No, breathe! There's a solution!

Because there's a back door into your blog. And it's safely located at your hosting company.

Getting into your Wordpress blog again

Have you taken a deep breath? Don't worry. Everything is going to be alright. I'm going to tell you the steps to get in through the back door.

Since my Wordpress blogs are hosted at Keurigonline, I'm going to use them as an example. But even if the interface of your host is different, these steps will be helpful.

  1. Go to the website of your hosting provider
  2. Login to your account
  3. Choose Files
  4. Choose Domains
  5. Choose your domain name
  6. Choose wp-content
  7. Choose themes or plugins
  8. Tick the boxes of the one you suspect caused all the troubles
  9. Delete them

Now try again to log into your admin panel!
