Laugh till you cry

I'm not a big fan of jokes. I find them generally too long winded and boring. But this joke made me laugh so hard it took me about an hour to type it up, because I was shaking so hard from laughing.

Here it comes!

'A woman gets on the bus with her child. The bus driver says: 'Boy, that's one ugly child!'
The woman is furious, and goes to take a seat. She pours her heart out to another passenger: 'The bus driver was so mean to me, you wouldn't believe it!'
The passenger says: 'You shouldn't have to take that! Go to him and demand an apology! Tell him you'll go to his boss if he doesn't. I'll look after your monkey when you go.'

Why is this so funny?

I'm not sure why I find this joke so funny, but I really do.
